Office renovation to modernise a lounge area and meeting rooms.

This project involved a comprehensive office renovation for DH Group, a supplier of agricultural products, at their Deerfields offices in Kings Lynn, Norfolk.

iQ Workspace provided a complete furniture solution, transforming the space into a modern, functional, and aesthetically pleasing work environment. The project encompassed various areas, including reception, boardrooms, executive offices, open plan workspaces, breakout areas, and meeting rooms, utilising high-quality furniture from brands like Narbutas and Formetiq.

The aim was to create a comfortable and efficient workspace that reflected DH Group’s professional image and supported their operational needs.

D&H Group Office Renovation Norwich

The brief

DH Group sought to renovate their existing Deerfields offices to create a contemporary and functional workspace. The brief required:

  • To transform the outdated office into a modern and professional environment.
  • To create efficient workspaces that support various work activities, including individual work, collaborative meetings, and informal interactions.
  • To provide comfortable and ergonomic furniture that promotes employee well-being.
  • To maintain a consistent design theme throughout the office, using high-quality materials and finishes.
  • To create flexible spaces that can adapt to different needs, including meeting rooms, breakout areas, and individual workstations.
  • Acoustic solutions that would provide quiet meeting spaces.

The challenges

The project presented several challenges:

  • Maximising the use of available space to create a functional and efficient layout.
  • Maintaining a cohesive design theme across diverse areas, including reception, boardrooms, and open plan workspaces.
  • Providing effective acoustic solutions for meeting rooms and breakout areas to ensure privacy and reduce noise distractions.

The results

The renovation resulted in a significantly improved workspace for DH Group.

Downstairs lounge area and meeting rooms

The central area of the open lounge comprises of Arcipelago, Luna and Vegas seating. Arcipelago offers a combination of style and comfort but adds a degree of privacy with its high back and sides.

The Luna and Vegas compliment the Arcipelago with a contrast in style, design and materials. Finishing off the open lounge are two Nova Wood Coffee tables with a delicate and eloquent design

For the downstairs meeting room we added a llarge meeting table with a continuation of the wooden leg frames so the Nova Wood 2.4m x 12m table was a perfect fit.

The seating is the slender and contemporary Luna sled based chair that adds in to the modern design.

Mezzanine offices and kitchen area

The main open plan hot-desking area is furnished with Nova Bench in the contemporary finish of amber oak and black. The cable management comprises of spine and Metalicon cable trays in black along with Kardo Twin Monitor Arms also in black.

Attached to each desk top is a double mains, double USB Boost desktop power supply which has such a reliable and firm fixing design which makes it our go to power socket in black.

The desking is finished with Nova desk-end sliding door storage units and to soften the whole look, Nova planters have been added to the sliding door storage.

Formetiq Alto sit/stand desk with Metalicon Kardo twin monitor arm

Task chairs are the fully-equipped Vienna premier high back mesh chair with height adjustable arms, seat slide, self-balancing mechanism, chrome base and head rest as standard.

The two single occupancy offices carry the same desking and storage as the open plan area but with the addition of Luna meeting chairs and Nova Wood coffee tables.

One of the offices also has the superb Alto electric standing desk which offers an unbeatable combination of height-range, smooth, quiet operation at a fantastic price.

Narbutas Arcipelago Wood booths

The breakout/kitchen area includes the beautiful Arcipelago Booths giving seclusion for both informal lunch time and also for quick meetings throughout working time. Archipelago Booth has the advantage of incorporating wood to its finish so the theme of Amber Oak is able to be carried through into this area.

The meeting rooms carry on with the same theme featuring either Amber Oak and black legs for the circular Optima table and Amber Oak and wood leg for the Nova table.
